Datacenter Network Technician - CONTRACT (Contract)
Location: Nottingham Country: UK Rate: £150 - £180 p/d (umbrella/inside IR35)
Datacenter Network Technician
6 month initial contract
Onsite (driver's license required for travel to different DC sites)
IT Consultancy and MSP require on onsite Datacenter Engineer for basic racking and stacking support.
- Perform simple pre-tests
- Depending on the size of the cabinet, either rack equipment in parallel or remove old kit first
- Rack and stack network equipment
- Patch required ports
- Document installed equipment, including serial numbers and asset tags
- Remove old equipment from racks and note its serial numbers and asset tags
- Perform repeat tests
- Engage with the onsite contact for testing (a plan will be provided)
- Ensure the rack is left tidy and old equipment is stacked in an agreed location
- Place rubbish/recycling in an agreed location
- Take a photo of the cabinet with the new equipment
- Submit CI information and photos to the remote engineer for service acceptance
In the event of any issues, the resources may need to provide intelligent hands-on support with guidance from a remote network consultant or technical advisor.
