Job Title: Director of Enterprise Architecture

Location: London (Hybrid - 2 days per week in the office)

With a strong Legacy and a vision for the future, they are seeking a Director of Enterprise Architecture to lead transformative initiatives & their journey towards agile, modernised systems that drive operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.

Role Overview:

As the Director of Enterprise Architecture, you will spearhead the core operations of the bank, focusing on product propositions and transitioning from Legacy Mainframe systems to agile microservices across all platforms. You will lead in architecting and engineering products for the entire bank, showcasing expertise in modernising and refactoring core systems to achieve a revolutionary shift. Additionally, you will implement a hybrid cloud environment (AWS on-premises as the target state), emphasising a shift from strict governance to measuring impact and ensuring cost-effective changes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a dedicated team and oversee both physical and cloud data centres, ensuring robust infrastructure and governance across core banking operations.
• Manage 30 million customer accounts, drive 170 programs, and prioritize future-proofing strategies, emphasising customer flexibility and franchise sustainability.
• Architect future-proof products while leveraging technology advancements and avoiding operational inefficiencies across thousands of platforms.
• Play a pivotal role in architecting processes that contribute significantly to the UK economy.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the financial services sector.
• Expertise in modernising Legacy systems, transitioning to agile methodologies, and implementing hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and inspire teams of architects and experts.
• In-depth knowledge of modern workloads, technology advancements, and best practices in enterprise architecture.
• Experience in handling large-scale operations, driving strategic initiatives, and contributing to organizational growth and success.
